The way these images have been designed are in two half's. The top is a portrait of the person and the bottom half of the image is a selection of that person objects that relates to them. Forming the image that way allows it to be clear on the purpose of the image. All the objects are laid out neats with enough of space without looking bunched together and too busy. All these images relate to the person above. I think that the objects that have been used are unique and looks as though they would relate to the model looking realistic.
In order to take these photographs I don't think that it took a lot to do other than location. It looks as thought the modelled was photographed in the library using depth of field for the main focal point to be the model. To me it looks like natural lighting though studio lighting may have been used as though the images look very bright and clean and compliments the colours of the images. this is a digital photograph, so would have been edited on photoshop altering the colours some more in order to be as bright as possible using colours tools adjusting brightness and contrast.
I really liked this work as I felt it was interesting and gives you more of a story about a person rather then just their portrait. by putting some object beside them gives you a little more about the person on what who they are and what they like and what they find most important to carry around with them. E.g having a iPod showing they like music, car keys, having a car, having book because they like to read.
I wanted to research Travis' work as I wanted to use the theme for my own personal project.
I wanted to take the idea of photograph everyday ideas you would have in your bag, but an interesting effect of not having them in complete focus. I wanted the images to be interesting to look at and you have to really concentrate if you wanted to know what the object are.
